Muay thai - Muay thai Questions

Pytanie #1:

Which of these martial arts would you recommend to me?

A follow-on from a previous question except I have found out what is offered in my area:

Japanese Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Aikido
Tae Kwon Do
Muay Thai
Mixed Martial Arts
Judo
There's also some Kempo/sword-fighting stuff but that doesn't seem relevant to me.

I need something practical and I just want to be able to defend myself against a larger/stronger opponent. I'm really petite, slim. About 5"6 and 48kgs. Which of the above should I sign myself up for?

Pytanie #2:

Let's say,I moved to Japan....and became a star.?

A big Muay Thai movie star, like REALLY BIG i can't walk down a street without paparazzi taking pictures or some wannabe kung fu master challenging me to a duel.Anyway say I then married a Korean girl would the japanese people be like

A)This Thai guy became a big star in Japan just to marry a korean girl?Japanese girls do it better,he needs to learn that.

B)LOL one Thai gaijin taking a Korean gaijin,Could this day get any better.Dirty Thai gaijin's not getting his hands on The beautiful japanese girls.

C)Good Idea korean girls do it better.

And would the paparazzi like to point out that she's korean.

I ask because, you never know maybe I'll become a big muay thai star in the future and because I heear Japanese and Koreans hate each other.

(when I say "do it better" I don't mean sex I mean make better wives)

I'd prefer native japanese opinions they'd have the best answer but all opinions are welcome.
(and feel free to fix any holes, like say japanese people aren't interested in muay thai i'd like to know something like that)
threedaypriest if I've offended you or someone you know I apologize i mean no offence i was just curious.

Pytanie #3:

I want to know the real reason why men do not respect female fighters.?

I am 21 years old, I have been doing martial arts all my life. 12 years judo and wrestling 9 years jiu jitsu 5 yrs muay thai and knife training on the side.

I teach wrestling to all ages, and for some reason I still get men that do not believe I am "worthy" or qualified enough to be considered a martial artist.

I don't get choked up about the men who are ignorant and who have never been in martial arts, this frustration arose when I went to another gym to pick up one of my students ( she does TKD at one gym and she comes to my gym for wrestling) and I asked the sensei where she was so I could take her to class, he asked me if I was her baby sitter and I calmly explained I was her wrestling coach and this man went completely ramped on me.

So to all the EXPERIENCED martial artists, why in the world did this man feel the need to knock me down and make me look like a fool?

All answers are appreciated

Pytanie #4:

I'm jealous of my bestfriend!?

What do my bestfriend want to be when she grows up?
I'm also jealous of my bestfriend, is this bad?

My bestfriend is almost perfect, People who sees her always find her attractive, they immediatley like her, she's really fit( you can sometimes see her abs),Lots of hot guys always ask her out but she turn them all down because she like guys who are 3-5 years older than her, she doesn't care if she is popular she can damage her reputation in school and still don't care, she's really organize, she speaks 4 fluent language(maybe because both of her parents come from different country Thailand and iceland) her memory is amazing, she can solve logic things in minutes, she does well in every sport she plays, she does well at school, she is a captain in a varsity team, currently the top player in the tennis field of our school, she never gives up no matter how bad the situation is, if we get in trouble she always have a plan like if plan A doesn't work then she have plan B to plan C. One time I asked her how many plan do she have on her mind until she's satisfied to give up, she replied "don't worry I have until Plan A part 2", She can sometimes read people mind like by just looking on how they act, reaction and etc.Which I find really impressive, she knows when people are lying, She also knows weird things which is very interesting, you can sometimes learn stuff from what's coming out of her mind(I sometimes want to go inside her mind and see what's in there) I ask her how did she know all this stuffs she said " I trained myself to know it, I need it in my future career so I'm preparing myself for it" she never tells anyone what she wants to be when she grows up she wants us to guess it but she's still a straightforward person.

She also does well in Judo and Muay Thai(I watch her train it was an intense training, no matter how much she got punched or kicked she always gets back up). I really like her as my bestfriend because she never boast about the things she can do and achieved, she never thinks that all she have was natural she believe it was all her hardwork, she always have my back and is always there for me but why am I jealous of her?also what does she wants to be when she grows up(she said all the things she's doing/training now is for her future career)?sorry if it's long but thank you for the people who answer :)

Pytanie #5:

why do girls make getting laid so hard?

i went to a private school all throughout middle school and up till end of 9th grade. than i went to public school for 1 year. than back to a private school for half the year, than finally to another private school. for the rest of last year. know im still at the school
im 17 and a guy and have not gotten laid. its F#cking BS. i read that like 45-50% of people by age 17 have ready gotten laid. however whats hard for me to understand, is that like 98% of girls are not whores, and dont just put out. ive had Girlfreinds before, but they werent that great. and the 3 last girls that i have actually liked have not carred to go out with me. while i was going out with this girl in 8th grade i really liked this other girl. sophmore year i used to talk to this girl and i liked her, she later got addicted to cocaine with her bad boy Boyfreind, who really wasent different from me, all he did was drink more and do cocaine and had a car at the time. know i got a bada## car, i drives a 2006 cadillac cts v, i love cars' and fix cars up etc, and i golf and i have been doing muay thai for 2 years. but even so i cant get laid, nor have half my freinds been succesful

is it because im at private school? ( i know the sterotypes say that private school girls are actually wild. buts its total F#cking BS. i probally partyed the most all last year, and freshman year i was probally the biggest like party/druggie at school. none of the girls partyed except like 3 and they were my freinds, and none of them just had sex. you had to go out with them for like 2 years to get anything. another 1 of my freinds , 1 who has gotten laid was going out with his girlfreind for 2 years and they just finnally had sex. he has wanted to, but because he apparently loves her, he said he was fine with waiting till she was ready.

honestly its starting to drive my crazy. every F#cking day i am thinking about getting some. and it dosent make it better, that i No longer want to do drugs!!. I Want to stop getting high and drunk a lot, i got a good job and i am going to go to law school, and work as an intern at my dad's law firm next summer. so i know i will be succesful hopefully, i realize that drugs make things not always better and can cause trouble if not used modeartly. but even so when i was partying all the time, thats when i typically made out with girls, felt up, fingered, etc and got most of my action. was at party's or with slutty girls

so yeah so far im not having a fun time
jack bauer,
i dont really want to bang a Fat chick

and i know that fat girls are usually hungry

and Victor- your gay deud
how am i a perv? and would you not say for example lil wayne or brad pitt idk, tiger woods etc, guys who get so much P#ssy, are you saying they are not at all a perv

tiger woods- great golfer
still a fan of how he golfs. while it was terriable what he did, i would say that banging like over 20 girls while you have a wife
and having all these fantasy he had makes him a perv. yet he gets laid more than anyone probably does

however being worth 100 million helps anyone
KH

its so a contest

im sorry to say. but the happiest people are those who are in love

or those who are rich and love

or those who are rich as hell and get laid all the time

like my Uncle
he's a doctor single
45
and got a hot a## girlfreind. his friday nights consist of coming home, in his Aston Martin DB9, getting loaded off some fine Vodka and banging his Girl

how is that not what most males want?

Pytanie #6:

Can you use knees and elbows in kickboxing?

So i had a little discussion with some dude from my school about weither you may or may not give knees in kickboxing. (I am not talking about Muay Thai)
I say no, he says yes.

Pytanie #7:

Martial Arts in a third world?

venturing to a place like thailand or indonesia and studying maritla arts [muay thai preferably] has been a dream of mine. I have no idea how to approach it though. Finding something like an institution or a dojo that accepts young caucasian men would be perfect. If anyone knows anything as to cost, location, or helpful information, please inform!

Pytanie #8:

MMA sparring fight question?

ok im training for MMA most stuff i know by watching and practicing n sparring with my lil brother since i dont have any pro exp. im shit but compared to just knowing the idea of the sport im pretty well rounded takedown def boxing lil bjj and lil muay thai now im about 6'6 235lbs my friend plans on goign to to try at a pro gym but not for the sport and not long at all just to get very lil exp cuz he wants to do acting and i guess for action type movies he is 5'11 maybe 180lbs he wants to sparr wit my goign 50% power i dont wanan do it cuz he has very lil knowledge and he only plans on trainign for maybe a month if that so.... should i sparr against him meaning we put on the gloves and we go all out only using half the power im beyond stronger then him and faster he just flexible then me i just dont wanna hurt him lol or maybe i do and when this takes place i should be training in a gym so...

Pytanie #9:

jujitsu was not good for me, should i take muay thai?

i took judo last year for like 2 months and i've been taking jujitsu for 3 months now. i'm 5'10 and i weight 160 pounds. today, i got into a fight with a guy who doesn't work martial arts and he is not even buff and the he beat my as* and i couldn't do anything but punching and kicking him two or three times total. i realized that jujitsu doesn't really work in fights when someone is punching you 3 times a sec so i checked muay thai and i like that more because of the punching and elbows and kicks and since my main point of taking martial arts is to be able to kick someone's ass if needed or at least don't lose the fight, i think that's a good choice for me.
do you think i should switch to muay thai? any thoughts?
thanks
and plz don't advise me to walk away when there's a fight, i'm talking about staying and FIGHTING.
@ CHUCK NORRIS
the fight did go to the ground but i turned on my stomach covering my head and he would punch me in the face if i was facing him
and i take japanese jujitsu not brazilian

Pytanie #10:

Pytanie #11:

Are there any good fighters in MMA / UFC who's main martial art is Muay Thai?

Pytanie #12:

Does anyone know where I can get custom made Muay Thai shorts?

I can only find muaythaifactory.com and kombatgear.com on google. Has anyone ordered from one of these places? Was it good? Can anyone recommend another place to order custom muay thai shorts?

Pytanie #13:

Essay on MMA's Affect on Health?

I have decided to write my senior research paper on the mental and physical aspect of doing mixed martial arts. And it could be any martial art, Tai Chi, Karate, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, etc. I have already found 4 internet resources on my topic. So now basically my question is;

Where online can I find magazine or newspaper articles talking about the mental/physical results of doing a martial art? (not proquest)
-Thanks

Pytanie #14:

Why does my instructor always have me partner and spar with new people?

It seems like everyone in my Muay Thai class gets to partner/spar with someone seasoned and I always have to partner with the new person. I didn't mind at first, now I'm starting to think the instructor considers me as the lower skilled person in the group so they are giving me the new students. Am I reading too much into this?

I would really appreciate an answer from a martial arts instructor or someone who has 5+ yrs experience in his/her own discipline. .

Pytanie #15:

Can someone come up with a workout plan for me? Best answer?

I'm 16 y/o 5'7 115 pounds. I am already pretty toned and have a six pack but my upper chest needs a bit of work, same with my arms and legs. If you could come up with a 6 day workout plan including the kind of exercises, how many reps and sets.

I'm trying to increase muscle mass right now so I think that would be higher weight lower reps. Also I go to Muay Thai 3x per week 2 hours each time which is pretty intense so take that into account. Make it as hard as you can I'll do anything for the results.
Also some diet tips would be welcome.. Right now I'm eating pretty healthy.. only water no junk lots of fruit, chicken, etc.

Pytanie #16:

first time sparring .?

-in muay thai I got my butt kicked by a guy who was probably 10 years older(I'm 14) and had 5+ years more experience. My only advantage was my height, maybe 2 inches taller. Any tips? Every time he got near me and attacked, he just kept on throwing and throwing. What should I do in that situation? I just got hit and hit, although I didn't curl up and close my eyes.
-Also guys, to those who also got their ass kicked the first time they sparred, please share :)
-lastly, do you get dumb when you get hit repeatedly in the head(with head gear)? Like lose brain cells and never restore them back? I don't want to lower my already low grades. thanks

Pytanie #17:

Strength, Endurance, Cardio and Power Training?

I plan to do Strength Training, Muscular Endurance Training, Cardiovascular Training and Power Training. But I am not sure whether I should do Strength and Muscle Endurance right after one another, because with all this training I need time to do things and I need to combine some on the same day but not sure if I can? I am planning on doing Cardio 3 days, Strength 3 days, Power, 3 days, Muscle Endurance 3 days and I need to obviously combine them through the week. What would be good combinations. Its for MMA and Muay Thai (Fighting).
I have worked it out and have done it all before I won't be overtraining. None of you answered my question on which ones I should do on the same day?

Pytanie #18:

What martial art is fun or helpful?

I did take a karate class in a recreation center. and they did basic self defense stuff and basic punches high sicks side kicks and so on.

Im looking for something that teaches in depth techniques for self defense but also devestaing moves for pwning people.

Tae kwon do, kung fu, and muay thai were at the top of my list.

Pytanie #19:

Firefighting in the Air Force? Please help?

Ok well after High School I want to go into the Military and serve. I was either thinking of the Marines (to fight) or the Air Force and honestly I really don't want to go to college. But if I were to go into the Air Force I wanted to go in as a Firefighter. My friend is going to the Air Force as Para rescue man and will be going into training in October and was telling me have I been looking into the Air Force. I want to be a Fire Fighter and I'm in my Senior year now and really want to do this.

During my time in Service I really want to train and compete in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) because right now I train in Muay Thai, Boxing, and Kickboxing and love the sport a lot.

Pytanie #20:

Ok so what should I do now? Advice and tips please!?

Ok back in July I signed up for Boxing, Muay Thai, and kickboxing classes but this month (first week of August) I had a serious rib injury and was out for the whole month and I'll be out during the month of September as well since school has started and my mom really doesn't want me to go to my gym (it's an hour away but an easy trip). I'm a Senior now and I have athletics 5th period and we run a lot, lift weights, and do agility but what are some other exercises I can do at home? I want to be in good shape and like seriously fell in love with these sports and hate not going.

Push Ups?
Ab Workouts? Rib is totally fine now?
Plus I do drink lots of water and bought Whey Protein this past weekend to drink while I do my workouts at home or go life weights?

Thanks!

Pytanie #21:

Pytanie #22:

Mixed Martial Arts E-Fed Total Fighting Championship (TFC)?

This is the first Mixed Martial Arts E-Fed ever on Yahoo Answers. I am currently on a talent search, and am looking to "draft" anyone who wants to be in a E-Fed based on this fighting style. Any wrestling fan on a pro wrestling E-Fed looking to be highly respected in the E-Fed society should join this. It is an easy way to expand your outreach on the internet. Below please give me your fighter's name 4 Submissions, 4 Strikes, and 4 Kicks. Here is the format.

Name: Jack Hatchet
Submissions: Kimora, Rear Naked Choke, Toe Hold, Knee Bar
Strikes: Right Superman Punch, Left Hook, Right Uppercut, Left Straight
Kicks: Right Muay Thai Head Kick, Right Leg Kick, Left Head Check, Left Push Kick

The matches will be posted every week. Here is the first ever match of TFC.

Jack Hatchet Vs. Buttery Bruce
1 Round: The 2 fighters square up, Jack throws a Left Hook, but Bruce sways out of the way, and counters with a Right Jab. Jack shoots for the Double Leg Takedown, and succeeds. Both fighters are down, Jack switches to Side Control. Jack is raining down Elbows, Bruce is caught, but he isn't finished. Bruce shifts his weight and gets the stand up, Bruce is bleeding from the eye, it is also beginning to swell. He throws a Right Straight, but he missed! Jack connects viciously with the Right Superman Punch, that rocks Bruce, and he hits the ground. Jack then stands over him, and begins throwing punches. That's it! The ref calls it! Jack wins by the Technical Knockout!!!

Some matches will be longer, and others will be short like this one. It all depends, on the moveset you posses, and even luck.

Pytanie #23:

how many solid knees should you?

be able to deliver within 3 minutes?
Please only people who have been doing muay thai answers, instead of posers.
I want to do a knee drill and am wondering what a good amount per round should be.

Pytanie #24:

Most effective Martial Art techniques in improving Kicking Power?

Hey all! I'm a miXed Martial Artist and been so for a couple of years and I got knowledge on almost every famous art =D I just wanted to ask you different practioners out there what are the best eXcercises for improving kick power and leg strength. I mean, when I go against a Muay Thai fighter, I'm all in for a world of kicking force yet they lack the speed. With Tae Kwan Do, theres some good speed but with combos going on, theres a fall out of strength. So, any Shaolin or Muay Thai or whatever fighter gonna help me out? I don't care how intense it is I can take it :) The stronger the bone the better. Thanks you guys!

Pytanie #25:

A Muay Thai Question?

So I just started Muay, but as I started I got really sick came down with the flu of some sought so I've been off a couple of lessons. Anyway, a friend of mine is doing it with me, but he seems to not be interested and hasn't shown up for the past couple of days. I don't know anyone and its all daunting to be by myself. He also sees it as a waste of time because where not sparring where just learning the basics and using pads. Could this be true? We're learn how to kick but I thought we would also be sparring with the other guys by now. I guess what I'm really asking is, does it seem worth it to keep going? I love the sport and really interested.

Pytanie #26:

Im looking for an MMA or Muay Thai gym in Honolulu area that trains on weekends and has open mat days or hours?

Prefer that they had thai pads, heavy bags , speed bags... basically a full gym.

Pytanie #27:

Any sport clubs, gyms,or activities for females in Al Ain Uae!?!?

I was interesrested in taking self defense(muay thai) if u know ny gyms here please help!

Pytanie #28:

For you stand up only type guys, did you see ufc 118?

Boxers and muay thai guys are the best strikers on the planet. There's no argument for it. They would kill any of you TKD, hapkido, or jeet kune do lames any day. They regularly fail in mma. James Toney would destroy and traditional stand up style martial artist any day, and he's got the knockouts to prove it. He got owned in a matter of minutes by Randy Couture. It was sad. What do you guys think you'll be able to do against a mma fighter? A reverse punch of death. A dim mak death touch? No no no. Theres no kata to stop an arm triangle(kata gatame, for my fellow judoka out there). I hope you all watch that fight, and rethink you're training.

Pytanie #29:

Would karate be good for me ,after taking muay thai?

i just took muay thai for a few months, and i've been training every day for an hour. so i'm not bad at muay thai. would taking karate to learn a few more moves be worth it? i've only learned strikes, really. does karate teach any throws or joint locks?
I can't take muay thai anymore because my teacher moved. which is why i said i took it for a few months and im decent at it. there's really nothing to master in muay thai. it's repitition and conditioning, which gets boring. it's a good art but there's not much to it.
and if you did master muay thai you'd still be messed up because muay thai doesn't cover ground fighting, or anything besides striking and clinch work.

Pytanie #30:

Why do people say that MMA is a martial art?

I was under the impression that MMA was exactly what it meant.. Mixed Martial Arts or combining/training in two or more martial arts.

Why do a lot of gyms say that they teach BJJ, Muay Thai, Boxing, and MMA. Wouldn't the MMA be all 3 of those? Is MMA like it's own martial art now or what? Wouldn't mixing shotokan karate and sambo be considered MMA?

Pytanie #31:

Is this a good way to fill my Muay Thai Bag?

I have been looking into a couple of ways on how to fill my bag, and I think that I have come up with a method that should work well, but I am not 100% sure since I'm not familiar with filling bags. Anyways, I was going to get carpet padding, and line the bottom and sides with it. Then I was thinking of getting a big ABS tube or Rain Pipe and filling it with sand, or any other heavy material like sand, and seal it and place it in the center of the bag. Then I would finish by just packing in as much fabric or leather scraps as I can around the pipe and inside of the carpet padding "liner" that I would be putting in the bag. I want the bag to be soft enough and heavy enough that I will build a lot of power, but still hard enough that it will condition my shins. I think this method with give me that balance that the bag will be soft enough that I won't back off and lose power, but hard enough to still condition my shins and hurt. I don't mind the pain when kicking, and I love conditioning my shins, but I want the balance in the bag that I can do both, but emphasize more on power than shin conditioning.

Thanks a lot in advance :)

Pytanie #32:

Pytanie #34:

I want to start a career in kickboxing (muay thai) how do I get into competitions?

Carl Browne, 177 cm, 62 kg, Southpaw,
I have been training in Muay thai for four years now and i am not getting anywhere with it, I would just really like to know how to get into competitions and win trophys, I live in a small town where not much stuff happens, there are no comps here just muay thai classes, I've been in many street fights most above my weight and am still undefeated. Fighting is my passion and i give it everything i've got. Any help would be much appreciated. Thankyou

Pytanie #35:

If I could train twice a week only, what would be the best martial art to do?

Out of Muay Thai & Kali Escrima, Choi Lei Fut Buk Sing (Choy Lay Fut Buk Sing), and Wing Chun.

Would the fact that I need to train lots of power and conditioning mean that Muay Thai or Choi Lei Fut wouldn't be so appropriate?

Pytanie #40:

Why can't i loose weight?

Okay so I've been physically active for a while now. I try to exercise 4-5 times a week ( i do weight lifting every other day, and cardio every day). Even when I walk to school I exercise ( school is about 3 miles away and i walk to and from everyday). I try to keep a good diet drinking mostly water(sometimes drinking a v8 or powerade after a workout). Anyways i started this summer with a goal to loose alot of weight for my senior year in high school and i got the oppurtunity to begin muay thai at the beggining of summer(I've loved every minute of it ^^ except the pain in my shins lol). I usually go to muay thai 3-4 times a week although i would like to go more the gym is even further than my school and my parents don't want me walking in that general direction so i have to depend on someone else to get a ride, and because of that i usually go 3-4 times because there are days when no one can take me. Classes take about 1 hour every class( i stay to practice my technique and condition my shins for a good 15 minutes) and mondays and wednesdays there are extra bjj/sambo classes which i always stay for. I can't understand why I'm having such a hard time loosing weight when i workout so often. I eat fruits, i generally have a high protien and fiber diet(though sometimes i have junk food when i hang out with friends) i eat plenty of fruits(usually blend them into a smoothie with nothing else added but ice). Do I need to increase the intensity of my daily cardio?( i hate jogging btw which might be the reason...dang shin splits hurt though) Btw i'm 16 210 pounds and 5"8. Everyone says i dont look as heavy as i weigh but i'm not really that muscular(from what i can see) and i have a lower belly pouch and moobs T.T(though most people are suprised that i do have them one of my girlfriends said that they looked muscular but in reality under the clothes their flabby). My lovehandles are also pretty flabby. I've been doing mma for about a month and a half nowand i'v gotten ALOT better than when i started( I don't get winded at all when we practice moves on our thai pads and i can do most of eveyr exercise to the full count like 200 crunches, 75 side crunches, 75 6 inch knee pumps, 75 pushups etc..) If anyone could give me any advice I would sincerely be grateful, I normally wouldn't ask a question like this on the internet but I've worked so hard with no notable improvement on my physical appearance and makes me wonder whats the point... Oh onoe more thing I've been gaining weight ever since i started doing mma if that helps.
Also my waist size 32-33 and last school year i was 180-185 pounds all year round strangely enough my waist size hasn't changed i looked similar to how i look now except i'm a bit bigger and i don't think its muscle because i don't really look that muscular. Thank you for taking the time to read my question.

A little nervous about joining the Marines? Any advice or tips?

Ok well the Marines is like a HUGE thing to do in life and honestly I've never really done anything huge in my life and I'm a Senior now at my High School and plan on enlisting but I'm thinking about going to College for at least a semester or two than enlisting. Problem is that I'm nervous. People say that's totally normal and all but I'm not scared off my a$$ just nervous because I may be doing something bigger than myself. I run track for my school to get back in shape and I also compete in Boxing, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai so yea I'm trying to get in the best shape right now.

Any advice or tips? Thanks!

I was wondering what kind of Muay Thai conditioning can I do on my own at home? We have 1 hour of pure Muay Thai conditioning at the Academy but I cant make it to that one because of work, I have to stick with 2 Muay Thai classes a day for now. Any tips?

Pytanie #44:

Why do some traditional martial artists dislike MMA, boxing etc so much?

What do traditional martial artists have against mma, boxing and the like? Do they also dislike things like Muay Thai and kickboxing?

Pytanie #45:

Who kicks harder soccer players or Muay-thai fighters?

I think Muay-Thai fighters cause they kick to hurt people. Also they are much tougher. Soccer players go down when a hard breeze hit them. Also Muay-Thai requires more stamina and conditioning. Soccer fans hate Muay-Thai cause its not dominated by Europeans.

Pytanie #46:

Pytanie #47:

Cross training muay thai kickboxing and brazillian jiu jitsu?

Hey, i wanted to get learn a good martial art that actually benefits in real-life situations and would help me be an all around fighter because i want to enter tournaments when i get a little older. I also want to start getting more active and get more muscular. I'm already pretty athletic but i want to take it to the next level.
I heard Brazillian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai balance each other out and would be the best to cross train. I wanted to start muay thai now and add jiu jitsu on in a few months. Would this be a good idea to cross train these or are there any other martial arts that i would benefit from more?

Pytanie #49:

Now that I'm a Senior in High School I plan on enlisting in the Marines but still confused pelase help?

Ok well I plan on enlisting in the USMC when I'm done with High School but I also want to go to school for firefighting and it's kind of hard for me also because both my mom and sister are totally against me going into the Military. They claim the Military as a death trap and and all. My would prefer me to at least go to college for a year and than Military. I'm just confused right now at this moment since it's my last year. These are the only things I want to do in my life: Serve in the Marines, train and fight in MMA, and firefighting.

Any advice or tips?

Thanks greatly appreciated!

P.S. I run track for my school and train in Muay Thai, Boxing, and Kickboxing so I'm trying to get in the best shape right now.
